the prince and prince

Once upon a time, there was a big castle with beautiful prenses at the top of the castle and a prince at the bottom. When they first saw each other they fell in love. When the prince saw he rushed over the broken bridge busted through the door then crashed into a big red slimy scaly tail roar! Said a big red slimy scaly scary dragon!!! So he pulled out his sharp sword he sliced and chopped but still, the dragon was standing. He wanted her so bad so he did whatever to get to her until the mighty sword broke so he did what he had to do… run! so he ran and ran till he found the stairs so he ran up the stair and saw the beautiful prince and picked her up and kissed her. the end.

Roma marae trip

On Tuesday 8th of November room, 3’4’5’11, and Kapa haka went to Roma marea to hear the stories of Ahipara. First, there was a speaker and then we had a speaker and it was Matteo then an old lady that knew our papas and nanas then she told us to do our pepehars and our whanau. Second, we went to have a big Kia but we did karakia and then ate. After we went back into the marae to hear the stories of Ahipara from a lady named whaea Marewa. It took ages but in the end, I looked back and everyone was lying down on the ground then we walked back to school but we stopped at the statue for a little while and then walked back to school.

Ag day

On the 28th of September, we had ag day. There were a lot of animals in the school and a lot of creations. We had lots of games like well-barrow races gumboot throwing and volleyball. There was also a parade for the animals and a pig won but it had to stay in the truck. I made a lama out of an ice cream container and cups it took a while to make it, but my cousin made a spider that shot webs and got first place. We also decorated some cupcakes and at the end of the day, I munched my cupcake. We made some haiku poems my one was about dogs.

June life story

June’s life story

In 1972 June went to Ahipara school but it looks way different because she went to Ahipara school in 1972. They could buy one-cent lollies.  She had a photo of her and her brother and they only had 6 classrooms.  If they didn’t do their work they would get the belt or the bamboo stick from the Principal, but she was a good girl.

Her dad died from cancer. They had a lot of games back then like rugby, netball, bullrush, marbles, and softball.

They only had two t.v shows. June got to go swimming because the river was behind her house so she could just walk there, then she went to Intermediate too.

At Ahipara School they had people come and had some special tools to cut barrels in half so you could turn them into a bath, it could be turned into many different things.

Traditional games

On Tuesday 2nd August, Matua Wiremu, Whaea Ange, and Whaea Amy taught room 5 some games. There was this one when you had to get in a big circle and a little circle in the middle. There was someone in the middle and they had a ring with some tape on it and they threw it up in the air and wherever the tape landed and pointed to someone they had to play Tug o war. The person on the outside had to pull them out of the circle and the inside person had to pull them in. This was one of my favourite games because I won!
